Microsclerotherapy is an effective treatment to reduce visible thread veins on the legs. A sclerosing agent is injected into the thread veins using a very fine needle, thus providing a comfortable treatment. The sclerosing agent causes the vessel walls to become inflamed to an extent that blood can no longer pass through the vessel.
The treated capillaries collapse and initially due to the inflammatory response, appear more red and prominent for a short time before fading and being absorbed by the body. This treatment cannot be used on the face.
